NAMs.network database

NAMs.network database
Innovation in the service of safe and ethical chemistry

ABOUT THE PROJECT

NAMs.network is the first open, continuously updated database of New Approach Methodologies meeting EU and US regulatory requirements in the safety assessment of chemicals and nanomaterials. The platform combines in vitro, in chemico and in silico data, classifies NAMs by status (validated, in validation, promising) and enables multi-criteria filtering (endpoint, biological system, regulatory). With an intuitive interface, it accelerates the selection of non-animal alternatives, supports SSbD and the Green Deal, reduces costs, testing time and CO₂ emissions, and gives NAMs suppliers free global exposure.

WHAT NEEDS DOES THE INNOVATION ADDRESS?

The chemical, cosmetic and advanced new chemicals and materials manufacturing industries are facing regulatory (REACH, CLP, MDR) and public pressure to reduce animal testing, accelerate risk assessment and meet Green Deal goals. Currently, there is no single, reliable source of up-to-date New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) that meet the requirements of EU/US authorities, leading to duplicative testing, higher costs, market delays and wasted data. NAMs.network bridges these barriers by integrating scattered data, indicating validation status and facilitating method selection under a specific endpoint and regulatory framework, and supports SSbD decisions. It is the first database to meet the needs of entrepreneurs and toxicologists who want to bring safe and advanced chemicals and materials into circulation in a sustainable and ethical manner.

COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES

NAMs.network brings together in one open platform a complete catalog of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) compliant with EU/US regulations, updated in real time. Unique tagging of validation status, endpoints and SSbD compliance enables instant filtering and comparison of alternatives without animals. Unlike OECD, ECHA or AltTox databases, we provide free access (including API), interactive toxicology coverage maps and supplier-user matchmaking, reducing selection from days to minutes. A data gap analysis module suggests optimal method sets and accelerates Safe-and-Sustainability-by-Design (SSbD) decisions.
