Polenergia

Polenergia
Green energy on a large scale

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Polenergia is the largest Polish private energy group, developing renewable energy sources on land and at sea. The company builds its own wind and photovoltaic farms and supplies the energy produced there directly to individual customers and businesses.

On land, Polenergia owns 13 wind farms and 8 photovoltaic farms with a total capacity of 642 MW. However, its largest projects are being developed in the Baltic Sea. Together with the Norwegian group Equinor, the Group is developing three Bałtyk offshore wind farms with a total capacity of up to 3000 MW. These will be able to produce enough energy to meet the demand of over 4 million Polish households.

The most advanced projects, Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3, are already under construction. They will feature 100 turbines, each with a capacity of 14.4 MW and a height of approximately 260 meters. The combined capacity of both farms will be 1440 MW, which corresponds to the demand of over 2 million households.

WHAT NEEDS DOES THE INNOVATION ADDRESS?

Poland needs more and more clean energy to reduce the country’s dependence on fossil fuels, increase energy security, and help companies reduce the environmental impact of their operations.

Polenergia addresses these challenges by developing large renewable energy sources both on land and at sea. The Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 farms are particularly significant, as they are among the largest energy investments undertaken in Poland to date. Their scale can genuinely transform the national energy system and increase the share of energy produced without burning coal, oil, or gas.

The Group also responds to the needs of businesses that want to use green energy without having to build their own power plants. Thanks to long-term agreements, Polenergia can supply energy directly from its own farms, helping companies reduce emissions and better plan future operating costs.

COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES

Polenergia’s greatest advantage is the integration of many elements of the energy market within one Polish Group. The company independently produces green energy, manages its distribution, conducts trading, and sells it to individual and business customers. This allows it to control the entire process – from electricity generation at the farm to its delivery to the consumer.

Polenergia is also distinguished by the scale of its offshore projects. Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 will consist of 100 of the most modern turbines available on the market.

Another asset of the Group is its cooperation with Equinor – one of the most experienced energy companies in the world – and its years of developed expertise in wind and solar energy.

Polenergia demonstrates that a Polish company can not only participate in the energy transformation but also implement projects on a scale that, until recently, was reserved for the largest European groups.
