ABOUT THE PROJECT

Ekoenergetyka is a Polish technology company from Zielona Góra that designs and produces fast charging systems for electric cars, buses, and trucks. It was founded in 2009 on the initiative of two university friends, and today its devices operate in over 40 countries on three continents.

The company develops its own technology – from design and software, through testing, to serial production and subsequent device servicing. Its plant can produce up to 20,000 units annually, which places Ekoenergetyka among manufacturers capable of handling the largest electromobility projects in Europe.

The scale of its operations is demonstrated by its cooperation with IONITY – one of Europe’s largest fast-charging networks. Ekoenergetyka has supplied solutions for 300 stations with a total power of 105 MW, installed in Central Europe, the Baltic countries, Finland, Croatia, and Slovenia, among others.

WHAT NEEDS DOES THE INNOVATION ADDRESS?

The development of electric vehicles depends not only on the cars, buses, and trucks themselves. It also requires infrastructure that allows them to be charged quickly, safely, and reliably – without long downtimes disrupting public transport or logistics companies.

Ekoenergetyka creates systems tailored to various needs. City buses can be charged automatically during a short stop using a special arm that connects the vehicle to the station without the need for manual cable connection. For passenger cars, the company’s solutions enable the development of large fast-charging networks along major routes.

The company also addresses one of the biggest challenges of electromobility – charging electric trucks. Its megawatt system can deliver over 1 MW of power and shorten the charging time of a heavy vehicle to as little as 35 minutes. This allows energy replenishment to occur during the driver’s mandatory break, without taking the truck out of service for many hours.

COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES

Ekoenergetyka’s greatest strength is its independent technology development. The company does not assemble devices solely from off-the-shelf solutions purchased on the market, but creates its own designs, electronics, and software, and tests them in a specialized laboratory center. It has four research and development centers, through which it controls the entire process – from concept to finished charger.

Reliability is also a significant advantage. According to company data, its infrastructure achieves over 97% availability. Approximately 70 partners and over 300 service points in Europe ensure the continuous operation of the devices. This is of immense importance in public and heavy transport, where a charger failure can halt the operation of an entire fleet.

Technology from Zielona Góra is already operating in large European charging networks, bus depots, and truck hubs.

Ekoenergetyka shows that one of the key technologies needed for the electrification of European transport can be designed, tested, and produced right here in Poland.
