ABOUT THE PROJECT

Atende Industries is a Polish technology company developing proprietary software for smart grids, distributed energy, and Industry 4.0. The company was established in 2020 as a spin-off from Atende Software and draws on experience gained, among other projects, in implementing smart metering systems for Energa-Operator.

Atende Industries develops the redGrid and besmart.energy systems. The first provides support for smart metering infrastructure and large measurement data sets, while besmart.energy supports forecasting of energy production and consumption, balancing, and management of local energy systems.

WHAT NEEDS DOES THE INNOVATION ADDRESS?

The energy transformation is increasing the number of distributed energy sources, prosumers, energy storage facilities, and smart meters. As a result, grid operators and local energy communities must process growing volumes of data and continuously control energy flows between producers and consumers.

Simply collecting data from meters is not enough. Systems are needed that enable automatic data acquisition, analysis, and use for billing, consumption forecasting, and decision-making regarding grid operation. A similar challenge applies to microgrids and energy cooperatives, where local balancing of production and demand is necessary.

Atende Industries develops the besmart.energy platform designed for distributed energy, including microgrids, energy cooperatives, and local energy communities. The redGrid system, meanwhile, is used in one of the largest smart metering deployments in Poland.

COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES

Atende Industries develops its own software technologies designed to handle large-scale energy data. redGrid combines the functions of MDM and HES systems, allowing it to handle both communication with metering infrastructure and the storage and processing of information from smart meters.

The scale of the solution is confirmed by its use in Energa-Operator’s infrastructure. More recent data from the Atende Group indicates that the redGrid AMI system currently handles over 2.5 million smart meters. This is particularly significant in the context of Smart Grid development, where the number of measurement points and the volume of generated information continue to grow.

The second important development direction is the besmart.energy platform. The system uses data on energy production and consumption and enables, among other functions, forecasting, local balancing, and integration of energy storage.

By combining solutions for metering infrastructure and distributed energy, Atende Industries develops tools covering both the level of large grid operators and local energy communities.
