Kołton
Next-Generation Heating

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Kołton is a Polish company that has been designing and manufacturing heating equipment for over 40 years. It started with central heating boilers, and today is also one of Poland’s leading manufacturers of heat pumps using R290 propane—a modern refrigerant with very low climate impact.

One of the company’s most important innovations is the AirAdapt heat pump series, developed in collaboration with AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow. The units heat buildings and water, and in summer can also cool rooms. They operate at temperatures as low as –25°C, achieve A+++ energy class, and can heat water in the system up to 75°C.

WHAT NEEDS DOES THE INNOVATION ADDRESS?

Homeowners, businesses, and public facilities need heating systems that are economical, low-emission, and effective even during harsh winters. A major challenge is also modernizing older buildings where traditional radiators operate, requiring higher water temperatures.

Kołton heat pumps have been designed with the Polish climate and such installations in mind. Thanks to their ability to achieve high supply temperatures, they can be used in both new homes and modernized buildings without the need to completely replace the existing heating system.

The company also develops hybrid solutions that combine a heat pump with a boiler, photovoltaics, electric heater, or other energy source. Intelligent controls select the most efficient heating method, ensuring comfort and continuous system operation.

COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES

Kołton’s greatest strength is the combination of over four decades of experience, in-house production, and collaboration with Polish science. The company independently manufactures its equipment in a modern machine park, allowing it to control the entire process—from design and material processing to assembly and the finished product.

Kołton was one of the first Polish manufacturers to develop heat pumps using R290 refrigerant. It also offers a wide range of boilers with output from 10 to 600 kW, which can heat single-family homes as well as hotels, guesthouses, and public institutions.

The company’s advantage is also the ability to create a complete system from devices by a single manufacturer: heat pump, boiler, water tank, and heat storage buffer. All components are designed to work together efficiently.

Kołton demonstrates that modern heating technologies can be designed and manufactured in Poland—with the Polish climate, older buildings, and real user needs in mind.
