R.Power
Green Energy on a Large Scale

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Since 2010, R.Power has been developing large-scale solar power plants, wind farms, and industrial energy storage facilities. The company implements projects in six countries: Poland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Romania.

This is one example of a Polish company that has transformed from a local photovoltaic developer into a large European energy group. R.Power is responsible for the entire investment process—from finding the right location and securing financing, through design and construction, to production and sale of green energy. As a result, the company not only builds power plants but also manages them for years to come.

WHAT NEEDS DOES THE INNOVATION ADDRESS?

Energy from the sun and wind is not produced evenly. Sometimes more is generated than consumers can use at a given moment, and sometimes too little. That’s why modern energy systems need not only more power plants but also large-scale storage facilities that allow excess energy to be saved and released back into the grid when it’s needed most.

R.Power combines solar and wind energy production with industrial-scale storage. The company is preparing an energy storage facility in Jedwabno with a capacity of 150 MW and 300 MWh. It is also developing a project in Romania, supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego.

Such solutions help stabilize the energy grid, make better use of energy from renewable sources, and reduce situations where green electricity cannot be used due to lack of appropriate infrastructure.

COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES

R.Power’s greatest advantage is the combination of several technologies and full control over the entire investment process. The company develops solar power plants, wind farms, and energy storage facilities, while also handling their financing, construction, operation, and sale of the electricity produced.

R.Power can implement both distributed photovoltaic projects and investments covering hundreds of hectares. An example is the Żary-Marciszów solar power plant being built in Poland with a capacity of 127 MW, covering approximately 130 hectares. The company’s position is strengthened by its presence in six European markets and the trust of major financial institutions. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Three Seas Initiative Fund have invested in R.Power’s development. In 2023, the company secured equity financing in a round worth 250 million euros, earmarked for further development of renewable energy projects.
