Bin-e
Smart sorting

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Bin-e is a technology company that creates intelligent solutions for waste sorting and collection. Its flagship product resembles a modern bin, but inside it functions like a small, automatic sorting plant using artificial intelligence.

After waste is thrown in, the device independently recognizes the material it’s made from and directs it to the appropriate container. The system achieves up to 95% recognition effectiveness, and plastic and paper packaging can also be compacted, reducing their volume. Bin-e also monitors the fill level of containers and informs staff when they need to be emptied. All data is sent to an application where users can check the quantity and type of collected waste, create reports, and better plan collections.

The company is also developing devices for collecting batteries, light bulbs, and e-waste, as well as deposit-return machines that recognize returned bottles and cans. This creates a complete system for intelligent management of various types of waste.

WHAT NEEDS DOES THE INNOVATION ADDRESS?

Waste sorting in offices, shops, and public places often doesn’t work as it should. Users confuse containers, throw soiled packaging into the wrong fractions, or give up on sorting when the system is too complicated. As a result, some raw materials that could be reused do not get recycled.

Bin-e simplifies this process. The user doesn’t have to wonder which container to throw waste into, because the device recognizes it independently and sorts it automatically.

The solution also addresses the needs of companies that want to know exactly how much waste they produce and what happens to it. Real-time data helps to better plan collections, reduce unnecessary trips, lower costs, and prepare sustainability reports.

COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES

Bin-e’s biggest advantage is combining artificial intelligence, automatic sorting, waste compaction, fill sensors, and data analysis in one device. It is therefore not just another trash can, but a complete tool for recycling management. Solutions can be adapted to a specific location and type of collected materials—from paper, plastic, and glass to batteries, light bulbs, or used electronic equipment. The devices are also available in versions designed for outdoor use, and their appearance, functions, and screen messages can be customized to the needs of a given organization.

Bin-e’s partners include international brands and organizations such as IKEA, Dell, Logitech, and BNP Paribas. The company has also been recognized in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Central Europe and Technology Fast 500 EMEA rankings and has received the European Seal of Excellence certificate.
