AMPULS

AMPULS
Modern agriculture in practice

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Amplus is a Polish, family-owned company with an international reach, which for years has been developing a modern approach to “seed-to-table” food production, focusing on safety, quality and full control of the process at every stage. An expression of this strategy is a unique in the country R&D center based on vertical farms – the company’s largest investment, estimated at about PLN 20 million, treated as a real “investment in the future” of agriculture and food. The center develops and tests innovations such as multi-level hydroponics, energy-efficient LED lighting (including liquid-cooled LED modules) and solutions to strengthen crop bioassurance, which allows combining high productivity with reproducible quality and greater production safety.

WHAT NEEDS DOES THE INNOVATION ADDRESS?

In agriculture and food production today, water conservation, crop stability, reduction of chemicals and quality predictability are becoming crucial. Amplus addresses these needs through cultivation technologies that:
– use a closed water cycle and very high irrigation efficiency (the company declares a reduction in water consumption by up to 99% vs. traditional cultivation in the context of the solutions described),
– reduce the risk of disease through environmental control: air filtration and UV disinfection,
– support pesticide-free production (declared by the company in the context of the farm), which is expected to affect taste and nutritional value.
In addition, Amplus is developing modern cultivation of strawberries (including on suspended troughs), which is expected to increase control over the cultivation and quality of the raw material.

COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES

Amplus communicates its advantage as a combination of vertical farms and its own R&D facilities – it emphasizes the uniqueness of its R&D center in Poland and the development of multi-level hydroponics technology. Resource efficiency and bioassurance are also important elements: the company points to a closed water cycle, energy-efficient LED lighting, and solutions such as air and UV filtration to enhance crop safety. The whole thing is in keeping with the scale and “agrotech” ambition of the project – industry media describe Amplus as an entity building an advantage precisely around vertical farms and agrotech direction.
