Spectacular result of three decades of hard work
Just a few decades ago, Poland was at the beginning of its journey in the free market economy. Today we are an example of a country that has been able to seize its opportunity and enter the ranks of global players.
Between 2004 and 2023, Poland’s GDP grew gigantically, and our economy doubled in value. This development is not just on paper. Each of us feels it in our daily lives. We earn more than we did two decades ago, we have access to modern services. We travel the world more often, and the standard of living is rising year after year. Polish cities have changed their face – new roads, airports, housing estates and business centers have been built. As recently as 20 years ago, a car or a vacation abroad was only a dream for many, today it is increasingly becoming an everyday reality. Economic development also means better health care, more jobs and increasing professional and educational opportunities for young people.
Polish economy is the foundation, innovation is the future
Although many people look only at the rankings, the numbers show something much more important. Poland is consistently closing the gap with the EU average in the area of innovation. Our score in 2023 was 62.8% of the EU average – a big improvement over previous years and proof that we are moving in the right direction.
In 2023, Poland spent more than 53 billion zlotys on research and development, and the ratio of R&D to GDP reached 1.56%. Every zloty spent on science and innovation is an investment in future generations and our place on the technological map of the world.

Poland’s greatest capital is its people
We have brilliant scientists, talented engineers and creative entrepreneurs who prove every day that we can create world-changing solutions. In the world of startups, as many as 51% of Polish technology companies reported revenue growth in 2023 compared to the previous year. One in three operates in the field of AI, deeptech or Internet of Things. This potential can be seen in the innovations that are emerging in Poland. From breakthrough diagnostic technologies like BioCam.ai, which allows you to examine your digestive system at home, to a 3D printed bionic pancreas, to global leaders like ElevenLabs in the field of generative audio artificial intelligence, or BLIK, which has revolutionized mobile payments. This is where our strength lies – in ideas that have the potential to become the pillars of Poland’s 21st century economy.
Poland – the country of success and the future
Advancement to the ranks of the world’s 20 largest economies is a source of pride, but also an invitation to go further. Poland has shown that it can work hard and consistently achieve its goals. Now it’s time for the world to hear more about our inventions, startups and technologies that have the potential to change the future.
Because Poland is not only a successful economy. It is also innovation, creativity and visions waiting to be discovered by the whole world.
