Ryvu Therapeutics

Ryvu Therapeutics
Precision Against Cancer

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Ryvu Therapeutics is a Polish biotechnology company based in Krakow, focused on discovering and developing new cancer therapies. The company concentrates on small-molecule drugs and other modern solutions targeting the biological mechanisms responsible for cancer development.

The company conducts its own research programs from the stage of therapeutic target identification and molecule design, through preclinical studies, to clinical trials involving patients. It develops therapies used in the treatment of blood cancers and solid tumors, among others.

WHAT NEEDS DOES THE INNOVATION ADDRESS?

Many cancers remain difficult to treat. Available therapies may be ineffective in some patients, cause adverse effects, or lose effectiveness over time due to the development of cancer cell resistance.

Ryvu Therapeutics addresses this need by developing therapies that target specific biological processes essential for the development and survival of cancer cells. This approach aims to enable more precise matching of treatment to the disease characteristics and limit the impact of therapy on healthy cells.

The company develops programs including the inhibition of specific kinase activity, the use of synthetic lethality, and supporting the immune system’s response against cancers.

COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES

Ryvu Therapeutics independently discovers and develops new drug candidates. This allows the company to control the entire research process—from understanding the disease mechanism and selecting the therapeutic target to evaluating the safety and efficacy of the developed compound.

One of the company’s most advanced projects is romaciclib, previously known as RVU120. It is a selective inhibitor of CDK8 and CDK19 kinases, which participate in regulating processes essential for the survival and proliferation of cancer cells. The compound is being studied as a potential therapy for acute myeloid leukemia, myelofibrosis, and other cancers, among others.

The company also develops the ONCO Prime platform, which uses cellular models, patient-derived material, screening studies, and biological data analysis to identify new targets for precision medicine.

Ryvu conducts its own clinical and preclinical programs while collaborating with international companies and organizations from the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. Through the combination of its own research infrastructure, scientific team, and international partnerships, the company participates in developing therapies that may expand treatment options for cancer patients in the future.
