ABOUT THE PROJECT

PolTREG is a Polish biotechnology company developing innovative cell therapies based on T-regulatory T cells (TREG) for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. The company’s mission is to create effective therapies that realistically improve the quality of life for patients and their families.

PolTREG has more than 17 years of experience in the field of cellular therapies, and its most advanced projects are already in clinical trials in the areas of type 1 diabetes and multiple sclerosis, among others.

WHAT NEEDS DOES THE INNOVATION ADDRESS?

In autoimmune diseases, the challenge is that the immune system “attacks” its own tissues. The PolTREG approach focuses on using TREG cells – the natural “regulators” of immunity – to restore immune balance, rather than solely suppressing symptoms.

The company is developing therapies and clinical programs to treat or modify the course of type 1 diabetes (T1D), therapies for patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) and further autoimmune indications, among others, as part of a platform under development

Proprietary manufacturing capacity (GMP/cGMP) and scaling – The company is developing a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for cell and gene therapies, and assumes the ability to manufacture therapies on a larger scale, as well as provide CDMO services.
